UKF in Nitra First time in EECA QS Rankings 2018 TOP 200
On 16th October 2017, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), a British company specializing in education and career counselling, published a list of top universities in emerging Europe and Central Asia region, known as the EECA QS Rankings. Among 2,900 universities UKF in Nitra achieved 181st – 190th position, ranking among 60% of top universities. As the attribute of the ranking puts it – 2018 TOP 200 – the rankings highlights top 200 universities in the given region for 2018.
In the first round 2,500 universities were selected, but only 2000 appeared on a shortlist. Pursuant to the EECA QS Rankings methodology, only top 200 were assessed and passed to the final list. This is the first time UKF in Nitra has appeared among top 200 universities together with another five Slovak universities.
EECA QS Rankings, a special ranking of top universities in emerging Europe and Central Asia, has been published since 2014. The assessment methodology is based on global indicators, such as the status and reputation of the academic community, the ratio of pedagogical and research staff members to the number of students, the number of scientific publications and quotations in the Scopus database and so on, are just some of the factors. However, the institution’s local competence is also taken into account, according to specially designed criteria for the region.
