Vice-Rector for Education
Prof. PaedDr. Jana Duchovičová, PhD. graduated in 2001 from the Faculty of Education, Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra in the field of Teacher Training of General Education Subjects for Middle and High School (5th – 12th year of study) and Pedagogy – Psychology as her majors. She completed her doctoral studies in the field of Education in 2004 and habilitation proceedings in the same field in 2008. She has been with the Department of Pedagogy, Faculty of Education, UKF Nitra, since 2005. In the years 2010 – 2018 she worked as Vice-Dean for Education at the Faculty of Education.
Her research is focused on stimulating the intellect potential and comprehensive development of personality in gifted children in the school environment and outside, the teacher's competence profile, development of psycho-didactic, diagnostic, evaluation and intervention competences of teachers, undergraduate teacher training and pedagogical practice, teaching strategies relating to the stimulation of critical and creative thinking in pupils, diversity in the education process and inclusive education.
She is a guarantor of the study program Teacher Teaching in Pedagogy as a major, co-guarantor of the Doctoral program Pedagogy, co-guarantor of the habilitation and professorship proceedings in the field of Education and chief consultant in the Doctoral study program Education and Pre-Primary and Elementary Education. She is member of the Commission For Doctoral Studies in the field of Education at PF UKF and in the field of Pre-Primary and Elementary Education at PF, Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica. She is member of a number of editorial boards of scientific journals, professional and review commissions, Scientific Council at the State Pedagogical Institute and an external member of the Accreditation Committee at MŠVVŠ SR.
She has worked as Vice-Rector at Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra since July 10, 2018.
