A New University Consulting and Service Centre Opened
On February 28, 2018 Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra officially opened the Consulting and Service Centre located in the newly reconstructed premises of the university boarding house Zobor. The Centre aims to provide centralized counselling services for students in several areas. “I believe that these new locations will always be filled with pleasant atmosphere and good will, facilitating the most favourable conditions for the work of the teachers and advisors working in particular specialized areas of consulting services”, said the rector of UKF in Nitra, prof. Zelenický, in his opening address. “I also believe that the Consulting and Service Centre will always be ready to provide help to those who need and demand it most.”
As vice-rector Líšková said in her introductory speech, the idea of Consulting and Service Centre was first introduced in 2015 followed by the commencement of a Centralised system of guidance in 2017. Subsequently, the professional guarantors and advisors from different areas of counselling expressed their desire "that the Consulting and Service Centre is established at UKF in Nitra”.
The launch of the Consulting and Service Centre means great support for student organizations: “The student parliament and other associations organize many events, activities and workshops, for which they need space and equipment, which is not always easy to get. Now we know where to seek help and support”, said Victoria Kyseľová, the president of the Student parliament.
The opening of the Counselling and Service centre of UKF in Nitra is one of the major objects of university investment policy for the given period. Created with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic, its original estimated investment amount was 220,000 EUR. The purpose of this investment was to create a centralised system of guidance and counselling for students in the existing renovated university premises in the area of Zobor university housing, where the new Centre provides offices, consulting rooms, and multipurpose rooms planned either for teaching or meetings of the Student parliament, as well as a variety of other social events.
