Project "Improving Quality of Higher Education Based on Development of Multilateral Institutional Cooperation"
The main objective of the project "Improving Quality of Higher Education Based on Development of Multilateral Institutional Cooperation" is to increase the quality of education at all partner HEIs - the University in Nitra, Slovakia, University of Bergen, Norway and University of Iceland, Iceland, based on existing cooperation in area of mathematics teaching, as well as to enlarge mutual cooperation to new areas.
The existing academic cooperation, realized based on exchange of experiences, will take place in the area of study programs on mathematics, namely „Theory of Teaching of Mathematics“ and „Teaching of Mathematics“. It will be focused on exchange of experiences among the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Natural Sciences CPU in Nitra, the Faculty of Education, University of Iceland and the Institute of Mathematics, University of Bergen.
In the field of enlargement of cooperation, the objective will be oriented in mapping of options how to extend existing bilateral institutional cooperation of all involved partners, of Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra, University of Bergen and the University of Iceland, to other areas of education/research or management.
Specific project objectives are as follows
- Improving the quality of education in Mathematics based on implementation of Inquired Based Learning (IBL) methods.
- Improving the quality of education based on enhanced institutional cooperation in other areas of HEIs education, research and management.
Duration of the Project Activities: 28th February 2015 - 30th April 2016
Total Project budget: 122 851 €.
Project outcomes are as follows
- International exchange of experiences and new international university textbook, published in Slovak and English languages, focused on improving the education of future teachers of Mathematics in the field of Inquired Based Learning (IBL) methods and computer aided teaching with use of dynamic mathematical software.
- New personal contacts and establishment of new cooperation between departments and working units of CPU in Nitra and its two partners - the University of Iceland and the University of Bergen.
