The first Career Day at CPU in Nitra
Both students and graduates from the Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra had an opportunity to meet potential employers and listen to motivational and informative lectures on Tuesday, 11 October 2016. The Career Day, which was for the first time organised by the CPU in Nitra in cooperation with Národné kariérne centrum (National Career Centre), was attended by well-known foreign and Slovak companies (Amazon, Accenture, PSA GROUP, Billa, E-KU, Injoy, Camp leaders, Your Choice, SAIA and Google). Their representatives took advantage of the University Hall as well as presentation stalls to give advice to the students about their work opportunities after finishing the studies, they presented them job offers and actual internship offers and informed them about an opportunity to spend a semester at foreign universities or to participate in summer programmes in the USA.
“It is in our interest to prepare the students not only in terms of professionality, but also to create such conditions, in which they can use the knowledge and skills acquired at our University to find suitable employment,” said the Rector of the CPU in Nitra, prof. RNDr. Ľubomír Zelenický, CSc., who opened the event together with PhDr. Miroslava Líšková, PhD., a Prorector for public relations and social matters, and Miroslav Koleník from Národné kariérne centrum. “I think that the first Career Day that we are organising will not be the last one and that it will find its place among the activities we do for students and the future graduates.”
Apart from meeting the employers, the students could attend the accompanying programme. Owen Fernandez, the sole certified coach of the prestigious company John Maxwell Team in Slovakia who has given lectures in over 40 countries of the world, was the foreign guest and he spoke at the CPU in Nitra on the topic “Your Career – Map it, tap it, Grow it!“. The estimated attendance was between 450 and 500 students.
