Academic Nitra 2020 under the auspices of the President
In a few months – from 5 to 11 July 2020 – Nitra will host a great celebration of folk culture. Visitors interested in traditional folk music, songs, and dances can look forward to many events and performances. The international academic festival of non-professional folk ensembles Academic Nitra 2020 is organized by Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic, the City of Nitra, the Nitra Self-Governing Region, and other partners. The festival has also been granted financial support from the Slovak Arts Council. The festival has been organized in accordance with the standards of the International Organization of Folk Art (IOV).
Academic Nitra, which has over the years also become one of the most notable Slovak folk festivals, will once again welcome national and international folk ensembles. The preparations are in full swing. The members of the AN 2020 Committee have worked since March 2019.
They have prepared viable projects to secure financial backing, are building up the organization, and working hard on promotion. The updated and more modern festival website will feature more and more materials for participants and visitors to the festival. This is where you can get news and interesting information.
One piece of good new got to the organizers already at the end of last year. Together with an official letter from her Office, the Slovak President has also issued a decree in which she has taken the festival under her auspices. This document proves that the 42nd Academic Nitra will take place under the auspices of Ms. Zuzana Čaputová.
The festival has also launched a Facebook page, information on Academic Nitra 2020 will also be made available through the university's Instagram profile.
