Award for Vice-rector Pavliková in Albania
On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Aleksandër Moisiu University in the Albanian city of Durrës, the Vice-Rector for International Relations of Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra, Assoc. Prof. Martina Pavlíková, PhD., MBA, received a prestigious award for her long-term, systematic, and continuously developing international cooperation of an interdisciplinary nature. This recognition confirms her active and strategic approach to building international academic partnerships that significantly contribute to the internationalization of higher education and research.
The award is the result of many years of international activities led by Vice-Rector Pavlíková, who initiated cooperation with the partner university in Durrës as early as 2020. The impulse for establishing this collaboration came from a working meeting with the then Ambassador of the Republic of Albania to Slovakia, Enkeleda Merkuri, and discussions with Professor Azeta Tartaraj, which laid a solid foundation for the development of mutual academic relations.
In its initial phase, bilateral cooperation focused on foreign languages. Gradually, however, in line with the growing professional capacities and shared ambitions of both institutions, it significantly expanded to include natural and social sciences, culture, and tourism. This shift enabled the more intensive involvement of multiple departments and fostered the development of joint educational and research activities.
The award represents not only personal recognition of Vice-Rector Pavlíková’s professional and organizational qualities but also confirmation of the growing international reputation of Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra. It highlights the importance of long-term and strategically built partnerships that strengthen the university’s position in the international academic environment and create new opportunities for students and staff within a broader European and global context.
Aleksandër Moisiu University is a member of the international university alliance STARS EU, which brings together European higher education institutions with the shared ambition of strengthening the quality of education, research, and innovation through strategic cooperation. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the university in Durrës, awards were presented on behalf of the entire STARS EU alliance to selected partner universities for their significant contribution to the development of international cooperation, including within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme.
The awards ceremony was conducted by the Rector of the Polytechnic University of Bari, Prof. Umberto Fratino, symbolically expressing the alliance’s shared commitment to supporting long-term, high-quality academic partnerships across Europe and beyond.
This recognition also serves as a testament to Vice-Rector Martina Pavlíková’s outstanding contribution to the significant development of international relations at Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra. Her vision, dedication, and strategic leadership have been instrumental in expanding the university’s global partnerships, enhancing its international reputation, and creating meaningful opportunities for both students and staff to engage in collaborative academic and research initiatives worldwide.
