Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra (UKF) once again welcomed a delegation from its important partner institution, the College of African Wildlife Management, Mweka (Tanzania), within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA171 programme. The working meeting focused on reviewing the cooperation established to date, further developing academic mobility, and identifying new opportunities to strengthen the partnership in the areas of education, research, and professional training.

The international delegation comprised Dr. Franco David Ngonya, Dr. Ebenezer Elias Goroi, Dr. Azizi Selemani Msuya, Dr. Jumanne Machibya Paul, Dr. Sharifu Bashiru Shehoza, Dr. William Didas Marandu, and Dr. Thobias Oddo Tomeka. UKF was represented by the Rector, Dr. h. c. Prof. RNDr. František Petrovič, PhD., MBA; the Vice-Rector for International Relations, Assoc. Prof. PhDr. Martina Pavlíková, PhD., MBA; and representatives of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Informatics – Assoc. Prof. RNDr. Henrich Grežo, PhD., Assoc. Prof. RNDr. Lucia Petríkovičová, PhD., and Mgr. Veronika Piscová, PhD. – who are actively involved in developing academic and professional cooperation with the Tanzanian partner institution in the fields of ecology and environmental studies.

 

The partnership with the College of African Wildlife Management, Mweka, represents a significant contribution to the internationalisation of education and professional training at UKF. Through the Erasmus+ KA171 programme, it provides a platform for the international exchange of knowledge and good practices, the development of professional and intercultural competences among students and staff, the integration of education with research activities, and the strengthening of the international dimension of the University's academic environment.

A tangible and sustainable outcome of this developing international cooperation is the involvement of colleagues from the College of African Wildlife Management, Mweka, in doctoral studies at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Informatics. This dimension of the partnership extends considerably beyond the scope of short-term mobility activities and provides a framework for the systematic integration of education, research, and professional training at the doctoral level. At the same time, it contributes to the internationalisation of doctoral education, the development of joint research topics, and the strengthening of professional and academic links between the two partner institutions.

The meeting also reaffirmed the shared commitment of both institutions to building a long-term and sustainable partnership, expanding opportunities for student and staff mobility, and developing further joint educational, professional, and research activities. Cooperation of this nature contributes directly to the implementation of UKF's strategic objectives in the field of internationalisation and strengthens the University's position within the international academic community.
