KAJK at the Final Forum of the International CLILNetLE Network in Madrid

The Head of the Department of English Language and Culture, Assoc. Prof. Elena Kováčiková, PhD, and Dorothea Bagalová, PhD, participated in the Final Forum of the international CLILNetLE – CLIL Network for Languages in Education, established within COST Action CA21114, in Madrid, Spain. The Forum marked the culmination of several years of international collaboration among experts in the fields of Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL), bilingual and multilingual education, and the role of language in learning and communicating subject-specific content.

The CLILNetLE network brought together experts from 40 countries across Europe and beyond, creating opportunities for intensive collaboration among researchers, university educators, and practising teachers. An important contribution at the academic and research level has also been the publication of research outputs in highly regarded indexed scientific journals, reflecting the results of collaborative international research activities.

An important dimension of the project was connecting academia with school practice. In this area, KAJK has established long-term cooperation with Tulipánová Primary School in Nitra, which is also involved in the implementation of a CLIL programme. PhDr. Veronika Čellárová and Mgr. Zuzana Janebová from Tulipánová Primary School were actively involved in CLILNetLE. Through this cooperation, research findings are transferred directly into educational practice. The Final Forum provided an opportunity to present the outcomes of the working groups through expert symposia, round-table discussions (mesa redonda), and discussions on the future direction of international collaboration. Assoc. Prof. Elena Kováčiková, PhD, and Dorothea Bagalová, PhD, actively presented the results of their academic work at the Forum and represented Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra.

KAJK’s participation in the CLILNetLE network has thus resulted in concrete research, publication, educational, and international outcomes, while also strengthening the connection between research, pre-service teacher education, and authentic school practice.
