Student research, professional and artistic activities:

A systematic guidance of students to research is extremely important. The Faculties hold an annual student competition for the students in Bachelor's and Master's study programs to allow them present their activities and knowledge (Student Scientific Professional and Artistic Activity - ŠVOUČ). The submitted student´s work is evaluated and assessed by the opponents and the defense is held in front of an expert panel. In addition to the above competitions, the students present their activities in visual art exhibitions and musical events (solo, chamber and choral performances). The doctoral students have the opportunity to participate in the scientific conferences organized at the individual UKF faculties. Additionally, the students can apply to receive financial support through the University Grant Agency projects. The Faculty of Natural Sciences uses the established system of scientific assistants to engage students with excellent academic ŠVOUČ results in the systematic scientific work at its departments and support them by special university scholarships. The objective of this program is to motivate students to scientific work and prepare the future applicants for doctoral study programmes.
