Nitra geographers on the roof of Africa
On July 5-16, 2016 the national quest to ascent the highest mountain of Africa – Uhuru Peak, Mt. Kilimanjaro (5,895 AMSL) was conducted by the Slovak Society of Geography, Slovak Academy of Sciences, Bratislava. Summer School of Archaeology 2016
In the period from 18th July to 12th August 2016 Department of Archaeology, Faculty of Arts of Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra performed the seventh year of the International Summer School of Archaeology in the castle Pustý Hrad near Zvolen and Peťuša castle. This season brought also exploration of a new archeological site Bakova jama near Zvolen where the primeval settlement was anticipated to be revealed.
